This is my favorite piece in my collection. I'm currently in the process of determining it's value so I can properly price it.

Cavansite forms in the cavities, vesicles, and geodes of volcanic rocks, primarily basalt, under specific geological conditions. The formation process involves hydrothermal activity, where water-rich solutions percolate through the rock, carrying dissolved elements like calcium, vanadium, silicon, and oxygen. These elements combine under relatively low-temperature environments to crystallize into cavansite. The mineral often develops on a substrate of other zeolite minerals such as stilbite, heulandite, apophyllite, or in association with them. It typically forms in delicate, radiating clusters of small, prismatic or acicular (needle-like) crystals, sometimes appearing as globular aggregates or rosettes. This rare formation process, combined with its specific chemical composition and limited global distribution, contributes to its status as a highly prized mineral specimen.
